Girly Moments

Today is the last day of school.  My oldest daughter has completed the 5th grade and will be moving on up to the 5th grade.  The twins completed the 2nd grade.  This is the last year that they will all be in the same school until the twins reach high school. I just cannot believe how quickly this year has gone.

To celebrate, my girls are having sleepovers. There is a lot of giggling, pizza rolls, water balloons and more fun yet to come.  Did I mention that my son and his daddy just left the house for a bit to look for refuge?

It got me thinking about all of the slumber parties that I got to have when I was a kid. I'm so blessed that my mom let me have friends over ALL the time!  I remember one sleep over that had a Halloween theme.  My mom had some awesome decorations and played a game with us where we were all blind folded and and to touch gross things!  EWWW!  I remember some of my favorite sleepovers with my twin friends.  We sleep outside on the porch. We still laugh about my dog, Maggie, farting the whole night!  I remember other sleep overs where the living room floor was just packed with girls.

Not every parent is willing to fill their houses with the silliness of girls.  For me, it feels like I get to pass on the tradition and memories. What a blessing for me to do this for my daughters.
