When you want it....

When you want it.
 You can't just sit back and expect it to come to you.
When you want it.
You have to take the steps to earn it.
When you want it.
You have to try your best.
When you want it.

It isn't enough to just WANT something. There is a second piece to it. I just don't know how to motivate my little man to act on it.  He says he wants something. There just is no drive in him to do the work. He is a shell of a person right now. He barely is functioning because of what's going on in his mind.

I am sad and frustrated. I can't get him to want to do anything. He wants good things, but he doesn't want to work for it. As parent, I can't be responsible for his inaction. I can't give him the drive to succeed. I can only love him. I can pray over him.  For his heart issues are deep and I cannot fix them.

Prayers.  That is doing something. It isn't inaction.  It's counting on a BIGGER action.

For my God, He CAN move the mountains.

For my God, He CAN help mend this broken boy's heart.

For my God, He is worthy and can do the impossible.

Dear Father,

This is our son.  You love him more than I am even capable of. You know, Lord, the weight that sits upon this child's shoulders, the burdens that no child should have to carry.  Father, help him to find a will to try. Guide him in making good choices.  Lord, may his life be a testimony to Your goodness and what you are able to do. Help me, be patient with him and support him even as I grow weary and irritated. Fix his heart so that the light once again shines.
