How lucky are we to receive God's grace. Undeserving.
I love how I can see so much through the eyes of my children. Lately, my little man has been so caught up in asking if I love him when he is naughty. (He is kind of having one of those streaks). I had one of those really tender moments with him. He couldn't participate in Tae Kwon Do because of his actions at school. He knew I was disappointed in his choices. He looks up at me and says, "Mom, do you love me when I'm naughty?". He had the most cute and sweet face. I asked him, "What do you think?". He smiled at me and replied, "Yeeeeah." So I asked him, "Do you love me when I mess up? Cause I make mistakes too." He crawled unto my lap and wrapped his arms around me. He gave me a hug and said, "Yes!".
I love that he can see that I love him unconditionally. I love that he realizes that I am not perfect either. He gives me grace every time I mess up too.
If this 6-year old boy can love me and accept me when I make these mistakes, how much more does my Father in Heaven love me and lavish me with His grace? Truly, isn't that what this "holiday" season is all about? A savior was born, God's ONLY son, to cover our "mistakes" with grace. God loves us no matter how many times we get it wrong. Like every parent, I'm sure He would like to see us get it right and not have the consequences, but He is ever so patient with us. His grace falls down on us like the rain...
